Davidia involucrata/Hankerchief Tree

This is a unique and most spectacular tree when in flower. In mid to late spring masses of yellow-green flowers with purple anthers appear surrounded by big white leafy bracts of uneven size, the larger up to 20cm long, creating amazing white tiers. These are followed by round green fruits, which ripen to purple-brown in Autumn. 6m x 3m in 20 years approx.

These are strong single stem plants well grown in a 9cm pot and are approx 40cm tall
